The Beach - Day 3

The beach is yuckie today. Rainy and overcast :/ We went shopping instead in PC. It happens to be some type of biker weekend in PC. Tons of bikes everywhere! Out of all the bikes I saw, this is the one that struck my fancy.

I don't think you can buy these.

Hopefully tomorrow will be nice and we can hit the beach.

The Beach - Day 2

Today was not as cold which means it was a lot nicer on the beach today. We ate the best pizza right on the beach for lunch from Beach Pizza.

The water looks nice don't you think??

Just in case you were wondering. My feathered friends are eating shrimp. The pizza was too good to share.

Ta ta until tomorrow,

Allie

The Beach - Day 1

How nice it is to be at the beach! It's a beautiful day and while it doesn't feel cold, it most certainly is when you get out on the beach. Chill bump cold. We only stayed about an hour and a half but while we were there look at what we found.

A sea turtle! Sea turtles are my second favorite animal in the world. I don't know what I love them so much but I do. It made my day and it was the only time I wasn't cold.

Say tuned for The Beach - Day 2.

Ta Ta,

Allie

This Week - The Beach

This week starting Wednesday, we'll be at the beach. I'm excited to say the least and am looking forward to reading, relaxing and not working! I have to find a new book(s)to read as I am at the tail end of one now.

Maybe just maybe our beach water will look like this:

or this:

In all reality the water is probably going to look like this:

But hey...it's the beach and I'll take it.

Any Suggestions on a good book?

How Nice

I have had major issue with a company Wisteria involving framed lemon prints that I'm using in my house. Let's just say the experience hasn't been good and it's my first time doing business with them. Not to go into too much detail but there were were multiple returns involved with one of the prints. Last week they finally made things right: refunded me my money and I got to keep the final and correct merchandise. I was okay with that and I had already decided I would do business with them again, despite all the trouble. I like their furnishings.

Well, today when I came home and checked the mail there was a package from them. Inside the package was a hand written note and monogrammed cocktail napkins. I'm impressed to say the least and I heart the cocktail napkins. They could have stopped at refunding me my money, but they didn't. How nice!

Oh So Simple Patio

We are all finished with the Patio. I must say that it is quite simple, but simple is good, right? I removed all the clutter next to the house, cleaned the table and blew off the patio. PMN told me that I could do two pieces or do a trio on each side of the patio. My budget didn't allow for two trios, which left us with two pieces, but PMN assured me it would be enough.

Plants we chose:

There is also an additional plant that has purple flowers. It sort of looks like Lantana, but there wasn't a card with it.

In Progress:

All finished:

Hope you are having a lovely Sunday.

Ghetto Patio

Today we (Goose and I) won't be hanging out with Bronchitis. We ditched him to do something more fun. Like, work in the yard and clean up the back patio for our upcoming party. Let's just say that the patio is ghetto and there isn't too much we can do about the grass.

As you can seen here:

This morning we headed down to Purple Martin Nurseries and let them fix us up. So, that's what we will be doing for a little while. Making our patio less ghetto. We Can't wait to show you the after pictures.

Well, we gotta go, now! We got a lot of bouncing to do! Hoo-hoo-hoo! Ta ta for now!

Love,

Allie and Goose

Nice To Meet You Bronchitis...

I never knew we could become so close. Don't you know it's the weekend and I have a ton of stuff to do?? Yep, that right. I have Bronchitis and I don't even know how it happened. I can't tell you the last time I have been sick where I had to go to the doctor. Have I mentioned I hate. hate. going to the doctor. Well, I do. Not only that, I had to go to four different doctors before one could fit me in. Humph. Let's just say I'd rather be out by the coast having a cocktail. However, Bronchitis and I hung out all day together and I didn't have to go back to work. How nice of you Bronchitis, but don't think we're going to be hanging out all the time.

Meet Maddux

I'd like to introduce you to Maddux. He's a faithful reader of my blog, which means a lot to me. Since you will see him in posts from time to time, Maddux and I thought an introduction would be proper.

Maddux was born into the world October 1, 2008, which makes him a Libra just like me. He lives in Atlanta with his Dad and Mom and likes to travel to Florida and Tennessee in his free time. He loves to play with sticks and toy balls. His two cousins and bff's are Quincy Roo and Goose. If he had to choose between the beach and snowy weather, he'd definitely choose the beach. Maddux says enough of the bio already...Let's see some pictures of me! Of course all pictures were paw picked by Maddux.

I was just a little baby here:

Kitchen Update

The fabric I'm using for my kitchen is an ikat pattern. I don't know the history of ikat fabrics or if they were once popular in another era, but I'm obessed with them. The body of this fabric is orange with touches of brown, green and beige. I saw it and instantly fell in love and have been stalking it ever since.

Things have progressed in then kitchen and the panels have been hung and the chair cushions have been upholstered.

Don't get too excited because we aren't finished yet. If you look to the right you will see a print sitting on the floor. I am waiting on the second one to arrive and then I will have my ID come and hang them. There is also a framed bulletin board to be hung on an adjacent wall.

Before the chairs were almost yellow and they had blue cushions. Parts of the chair were also painted blue.

I painted the chairs Cake Batter, from Porter Paint's white folder. Cake Batter is almost too white for the fabric but for now it will just have to do. I'm not up to repainting them.

My sister and brother brought me back a salt bowl from Krakow, PL. The outside is beige, the inside is orange and the rim is green. It's perfect. I've been reaching into the salt bowl to salt my food when my food doesn't really need it. I'm just so excited about it that I can't help it!

More updates on the kitchen to come and there are more gifts from overseas to share too!

The Weekend

This Easter weekend was filled with fun. Both sisters came and stayed with me at the same time. A first!

(Please note the little blond dog next to Goose. That's Quincy, aka Roo, Goose's bff.)

Saturday the sisters and I spent the day shopping in Tallahassee. We had lunch at Panera Bread before heading to Bainbridge.

Saturday evening was spent with my bff, C. C has a fabulous box garden in her backyard. She has planted a variety of tomatoes and peppers, squash, strawberries and cilantro. Can you say jealous? We made a quick trip to HD to pick up a few things for her garden and then C was up to her ears in compost.

Later, we ate wild turkey, played corn hole, danced and sang. It was a great night.

Easter Sunday we went to church. The Hymn "Because He Lives" was sang as a solo and I just fell in love with it; however, I can't find a YouTube version I like enough to share with you. We had brunch and then it was off to my mom's house. We are at the age where we are too old to hunt eggs. Instead we watched a slide show of my sister and brother's recent trip to Prague.

How was your easter? Did the Easter Bunny come and see you?

Terrific Thursday

Work has been busy (the usual) but terrific. I decided today that I would leave a little bit early and by a little bit I mean an hour. Anytime I leave early I can't wait to get home to see Will and Goose.

When I came home we decided to play in the yard with Goose. Goose often goes to the neighbors fence to mingle with his little friend he has never met, Jasmine.

Jasmine is a sweet little puppy that was rescued from the pound. Our neighbor happened to be outside when we were out with goose and brought Jasmine over so they could finally meet.

Our neighbor says that Jasmine sits at the window and looks at our house for hours waiting for goose to come outside. I just think that is so sweet. They had a really good time playing together.

Let's just say that goose now has a girlfriend (finally) instead of a boyfriend.

We hope you had a great Thursday. Ours was terrific!
